Strategic Retention Fuels Future Ambitions
The Worcester Railers Hockey Club has taken a decisive step toward preserving its competitive edge by announcing the re‑signing of five key players for the upcoming 2026‑27 campaign.
Forward Lincoln Hatten, who set career‑highs with 13 goals and 25 points last season, returns to the lineup bringing a proven scoring touch that helped the team surge in the second half of the previous year.
Also back is Declan McDonnell, whose four assists in just 11 games last year highlighted his knack for creating opportunities, adding depth to the forward corps.
Defensive stalwart Michael Suda, who topped all Railers blueliners with 39 points (5 goals, 34 assists), will once again anchor the team’s defensive production, providing both offensive upside and reliability.
Connor Federkow and Gabe Blanchard round out the group, each bringing complementary skills; Federkow’s disciplined play earned a +1 rating in 20 games, while Blanchard’s steady contribution of three points across 37 appearances offers depth on the roster.
The club’s management emphasized that these re‑signings are part of a broader strategy to maintain continuity while integrating fresh talent, a plan that has already attracted attention from across the league. With several more announcements expected in the coming weeks, the Railers are positioning themselves to remain a fixture in the playoff conversation.
