A Strategic Roster Move
The Worcester Railers Hockey Club revealed a flurry of contract extensions that lock in several key contributors for the upcoming 2026‑27 campaign. The moves underscore the team’s intent to build on a promising recent season and maintain continuity within a competitive league.
Forward Lincoln Hatten, who turned 26 during the off‑season, earned a fresh agreement for his third professional year. Hatten’s breakout performance saw him notch a career‑high 13 goals and 25 points, while also pacing the club with 129 penalty minutes, a statistic that reflects his physical presence on the ice.
Also returning is Declan McDonnell, a 24‑year‑old forward who contributed five points in just 11 games last season. His rapid adaptation to the professional game earned him a spot among the club’s more reliable offensive options, and his new deal rewards that early promise.
Defenseman Michael Suda, 24, secured his first full season with the Railers after a strong showing that placed him atop the team’s blue‑liners in points with 39 (5 goals, 34 assists). The Buffalo native’s offensive contributions from the back end were a major factor in the club’s defensive stability.
Connor Federkow and Gabe Blanchard round out the group of re‑signed players. Federkow, 22, recorded eight penalty minutes in 20 appearances, while Blanchard, also 25, added three points (1 goal, 2 assists) across 37 games. Both players bring a mix of grit and offensive touch that the coaching staff values.
Looking Ahead
With these extensions in place, the Railers aim to blend youthful energy with seasoned leadership as they target a deeper playoff run. General manager Ross Olsson praised the group’s commitment, noting that the contracts reflect a long‑term vision for sustained success.
