World Soccer Festival Returns to Montpelier for Its 14th Edition

Kids, adults, food, music and global camaraderie converge at Montpelier High School on August 22

The 14th annual World Soccer Festival is set for August 22 at Montpelier High School, where children entering second through eighth grade will compete in 3‑v‑3 friendly soccer matches, while an adult exhibition game will showcase the Capital Soccer Men’s team against the Central America Stars.

Beyond the matches, the event celebrates soccer as a universal language, inviting participants to represent a nation of their choice and receive a flag to carry onto the field.

A Day of Play and Culture

The festival grounds will also host a vibrant mix of international food vendors, art activities for children, and a schedule of live performances that highlight Vermont’s cultural diversity.

Music will fill the air with sets from Central Vermont’s Shidaa Project and Burlington’s Afro‑Brazilian percussion band Sambatucada, adding a rhythmic backdrop to the day’s celebrations.

Register by August 4

Registration remains open through August 4, and detailed information, including sign‑up forms and the full event schedule, can be found at worldsoccerfestival.org.
