The 2027 NASCAR season will culminate with a tightly contested three‑race stretch, and it begins at World Wide Technology Raceway in Illinois.
A championship showdown on the horizon
On August 22, the track will stage the Enjoy Illinois 300, the first of the final trio, a race that determines critical points for drivers eyeing a spot in the Chase.
The following day, August 21, the venue will host the Nu Way 225 from the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, adding to the weekend’s on‑track intensity.
Curtis Francois, Owner and CEO of World Wide Technology Raceway, has said the weekend will feature “intense racing” as teams battle for limited opportunities to improve their playoff positioning.
The event has sold out in each of its first four years, and organizers expect another sell‑out crowd in 2027, underscoring its growing popularity.
Since its debut in 2022, the track has steadily expanded its footprint, even transitioning to a NASCAR Playoffs date in 2025, and officials are poised to keep the momentum rolling into the new season.
