A new era for Wright State women's basketball
Wright State University announced this week that head coach Kari Hoffman has expanded her coaching staff with the addition of three seasoned professionals: Claire Henson, Josh Mason and Danielle Spiliotis.
In a statement, Hoffman said the new appointments reflect a strategic effort to blend fresh perspectives with proven expertise, positioning the program for continued growth on the national stage.
Claire Henson, a former Wright State standout who topped the team in rebounding last season with 744 points, returns to the program after a three‑year playing career that left a lasting imprint on the program’s record books.
Josh Mason arrives after a tenure that included heading the Division II program at Tiffin University and stints at North Canton Hoover and Cedarville High School, where he honed a reputation for developing disciplined, competitive teams.
Danielle Spiliotis brings a wealth of collegiate experience from positions at Boston University, Central Connecticut State University, Dartmouth College and the University of Cincinnati, where she contributed to recruiting classes that earned All‑NEC First Team honors.
Hoffman expressed confidence that the trio’s complementary skill sets — Henson’s inside presence, Mason’s grassroots coaching background and Spiliotis’s recruiting acumen — will create a cohesive unit capable of elevating the team’s performance.
The university’s athletic director praised the hires, noting that the new staff aligns with the program’s ambition to compete more aggressively in the Horizon League and to attract top talent both on and off the court.
