Wright State’s own story is one of fresh talent and seasoned leadership. Freshmen Evan Snyder and Chloe Dunford made immediate impacts, with Snyder finding the net in the 37th minute and Dunford adding a goal in the 86th during a 2‑1 victory over Butler. Goalkeeper Leigha Lauer, who posted ten saves and faced 20 shots in the season opener against Southern Indiana, earned Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week honors for her early‑season excellence.
