A Strategic Shift for WWE
WWE is reportedly evaluating the possibility of staging a marquee pay‑per‑view at American Family Field, the Milwaukee Brewers’ home stadium, as part of a broader effort to bring its flagship events to Major League Baseball venues.
The 40,000‑seat arena, recently renovated and known for its intimate atmosphere, could host a Survivor Series show in either November 2023 or a future edition slated for 2027, offering a unique blend of sports and entertainment.
Company executives see the move as a way to tap into the stadium’s large capacity and dedicated fan base, while also leveraging the venue’s state‑of‑the‑art facilities for a production that rivals the scale of traditional wrestling spectacles.
AEW recently illustrated the appeal of such cross‑promotional settings when it staged a Brawl in the Ballpark at Target Field in Minnesota, featuring a card that included The Hurt Syndicate, Shane Taylor, Lee Moriarty, Orange Cassidy, Wheeler Yuta and Julia Hart, drawing significant attention from both wrestling and baseball fans.
The success of that event underscores the potential for wrestling promotions to revitalize historic ballparks, creating a fresh revenue stream and a novel experience for attendees who might otherwise attend a regular baseball game.
If WWE proceeds with the Milwaukee plan, it would mark the second time a major wrestling championship has been held in a baseball stadium within a year, following last year’s Survivor Series at Petco Park in San Diego, further cementing the trend of high‑profile events crossing over into America’s pastime.
