A Dual Threat on and off the Field
Wyatt Madison, a student‑athlete at Concordia University Irvine, has been crowned the PacWest Male Scholar‑Athlete of the Year for 2026, an honor that underscores his rare blend of academic excellence and athletic prowess.
Majoring in engineering, Madison carries a perfect 4.0 GPA while navigating a demanding curriculum, a feat that earned him a place on the CSC Second Team NCAA DII Academic All‑America® list earlier this season.
On the diamond, he has posted a 3.21 earned‑run average and fanned 73 batters in PacWest competition, while at the plate he maintains a .277 batting average with ten home runs to his name.
His versatility as a two‑way player has made him a cornerstone for the Golden Eagles, enabling the team to compete at a high level both in the rotation and the lineup.
Madison attributes his success to the unwavering support of teammates, coaches, professors and his own family, a gratitude that reflects the collaborative spirit of his collegiate experience.
The award marks the second consecutive year that a Concordia Golden Eagles athlete has captured the honor, following track and field star Dylan Fox’s triumph last season, which also earned him All‑American status.
As the university celebrates this achievement, Madison’s story serves as a model for student‑athletes striving to excel in both the classroom and the competitive arena.
