Wynne School District Bolsters Baseball Program with Two New Assistant Coaches

Jackson Imler and Gage Watson bring extensive playing and coaching backgrounds to the Yellowjackets

New Coaches Join Yellowjackets Staff

The Wynne School District announced this week that it has added two seasoned assistants to its Yellowjackets baseball program, naming Jackson Imler and Gage Watson to the roles.

Imler, a Crowley’s Ridge College alumnus who also studied at Williams Baptist University, holds a degree in sports management and a master’s in physical education and coaching. His coaching career includes two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where he accumulated more than six years of overall coaching experience.

Watson, a graduate of Arkansas State University, was a key member of the Class 5A state‑champion Marion Patriots before earning All‑American honors at Crowder College in Missouri. He previously played at Crowley’s Ridge College and brings a blend of collegiate success and professional training to Wynne.

In addition to their coaching duties, both assistants will teach physical education at Wynne Primary School and the district’s high school campuses. Watson will also take on responsibilities with the basketball Yellowjackets, further expanding his impact across the school’s athletic programs.

Campus Roles Expand

Beyond the diamond, Imler and Watson will integrate into the broader school environment, serving as physical‑education instructors and mentors for students across grade levels. This dual function is designed to foster holistic athlete development and promote wellness district‑wide.

District officials say the new staff members are expected to deepen the program’s talent pipeline, enhance player development, and reinforce community ties. Their combined backgrounds in both baseball and education are viewed as a strategic asset as the Yellowjackets aim for continued competitive growth.
