The regular season of Wyoming American Legion Baseball has drawn to a close, and the state’s Division 1 championship was decided in dramatic fashion on the diamond.
State Tournament Recap
In the championship game, the Cheyenne Sixers routed the Sheridan Jets 8‑1, securing the title and becoming the only squad to eclipse 50 victories in the 2026 campaign.
The momentum carried into the Division 2 bracket, where teams from the South and North conferences have been identified, setting the stage for a series of tournaments that will unfold in Green River, Medford, Oregon, and Casper.
Division 2 Bracket Details
From July 30 through August 3, Green River will host the Division 2 State Tournament, featuring the South Conference representatives — the Torrington Tigers, Wheatland Lobos, Cheyenne Eagles, and Green River Knights — and the North Conference contenders — the Jackson Giants, Cody Cubs, Lovell Mustangs, and Riverton Raiders.
After the state event, the Cheyenne Sixers will travel to Medford, Oregon, for Region 7 competition from August 5 to August 9, while the Sheridan Jets will join the Casper Wildcatters at the Northwest Class A Regional Tournament in Casper from August 6 through August 10.
Conference Powerhouses
Both conference powerhouses entered the postseason with impressive records: the Sheridan Troopers sit atop the Sr. Legion North Conference at 48‑17 overall and 13‑1 in conference play, while the Cheyenne Sixers dominate the South with a 54‑15‑2 slate and a perfect 13‑1 conference record.
As the tournaments approach, fans can expect tightly contested games and a showcase of the state’s rising talent, with the Sixers aiming to extend their winning streak and the Jets looking to rebound in the regional stage.
