Wyoming Cowboys Bolster Roster Ahead of 2025 Season

A wave of transfers and returning stars aim to reshape the team's offense and defense

The University of Wyoming football team is gearing up for the 2025 season with a massive influx of talent, as nearly 50 new players have joined the program this offseason.

Among those returning are standout performers Samuel Harris, Dante Drake and Jayden Williams, who give the Cowboys continuity on both sides of the ball.

However, the squad will also feel the absence of several key playmakers, including top receiver Chris Durr Jr. and impact cornerbacks Tyrese Boss and Markie Grant, who have moved on.

New faces include graduate transfer quarterback Tyler Hughes, who arrives from William & Mary, bringing a fresh arm to the offense.

The Cowboys have also added experienced backs such as Markell Holman, a 1000-yard rusher, and interior linemen Chandler Donaway, Jason Maciejczak and Jeremiah Katt, bolstering the line.

A 'Magic' Presence on the Line

Jason Maciejczak, a junior offensive lineman from Pierre, South Dakota, has already drawn attention for his performance.

He earned an overall blocking grade of 79.5 from Pro Football Focus and has logged 33 offensive snaps in 2025, while also contributing on special teams.

Maciejczak is known as 'Magic' by his teammates and coaches, a nickname that reflects his energetic presence on the field.

His father, Dan Maciejczak, was an All-American lineman at Chadron State and is inducted into the school's Hall of Fame, adding a family legacy to his own ambitions.

After a brief commitment to the University of North Dakota and a stint at Nebraska, he now has two years of eligibility remaining at Wyoming and is eager to make an impact.
