Roster overhaul ahead of the new season
The Wyoming Cowboys have completed an aggressive overhaul of their roster, bringing in nearly 50 new athletes while holding onto core veterans such as Samuel Harris, Dante Drake and Jayden Williams.
Among the departures, the team lost top receivers including Chris Durr Jr., as well as impact cornerbacks Tyrese Boss and Markie Grant, creating openings for fresh talent.
New faces include quarterback Tyler Hughes, who transfers from William & Mary, and defensive end Beck Haswell, a Sheridan native who earned Defensive Player of the Year honors and helped lead his high school to a 55‑game winning streak.
The backfield also welcomes 1,000‑yard rusher Markell Holman, alongside interior linemen Chandler Donaway, Jason Maciejcak and Jeremiah Katt, adding depth and experience to the offensive line.
Local products such as Alex Haswell, Jackson Garrett and Mason Drube have also earned scholarships, underscoring the program’s ties to Wyoming talent.
With a blend of seasoned returnees and promising newcomers, the Cowboys aim to build on last season’s momentum and contend in the Mountain West conference.
