The Wyoming Cowboys have entered the offseason with a flurry of activity, welcoming nearly 50 new players to the program as they look to rebound from a challenging previous campaign. Among those returning are standout running back Samuel Harris and defensive tackle Dante Drake, both of whom were key contributors last season, while wide receiver Jayden Williams also remains on the roster.
The team also said goodbye to several top targets, including leading receiver Chris Durr Jr., and two impact cornerbacks, Tyrese Boss and Markie Grant, opening opportunities for newcomers.
At the quarterback position, the Cowboys have added graduate transfer Tyler Hughes from William and Mary, bringing a fresh arm and experience to the offense.
A Revamped Backfield and Defensive Line
Alongside Hughes, junior running back Ryken Banks from Parker, Colorado, joins the squad after a prolific high school career that saw him named the 5A Southern Conference Player of the Year and average over 100 yards per game.
Head coach Jay Sawvel expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, noting that the backfield and line of scrimmage have been significantly reinforced and that the team is eager to see how the fresh talent will mesh with the returning veterans.
