The 2026 Wyoming Legion Baseball season is drawing to a close, and the recent Division 2 State Tournament in Green River produced a decisive result. Cody Cubs captured their first state championship since 2022, defeating the Jackson Giants 11-1 in a dominant performance.
Following the tournament, only three teams remain active in the season: the Cheyenne Sixers, the Sheridan Jets, and the Casper Wildcatters. Each of these squads has posted strong overall records, with the Sixers leading at 54‑15‑2, the Jets at 36‑19‑1, and the Wildcatters at 25‑18‑1.
Looking Ahead to Regional Competition
The Cheyenne Sixers are scheduled to travel to Medford, Oregon, where they will compete in the American Legion Northwest tournament from August 5 through August 9. Meanwhile, the Sheridan Jets and the Casper Wildcatters will head to Casper for the Northwest Class A Regional Tournament, which runs from August 6 to August 10.
Conference standings reflect the competitive balance within the state’s Senior Legion structure. The Sr. Legion South Conference includes teams such as Cheyenne Sixers, Casper Oilers, and Sheridan Jets, while the Sr. Legion North Conference features squads like Sheridan Troopers, Gillette Roughriders, and Cody Cubs, each battling for positioning heading into the final weeks of play.
