Xzayvier Brown, the Oklahoma Sooners guard who finished the 2025‑26 season as one of the program’s most consistent scorers, came home to Philadelphia last weekend to run a free basketball camp for kids aged nine to fourteen.
A Homecoming Fueled by Community
The event, held at Philadelphia’s historic Penn Charter High School on August 16, 2026, drew more than 150 youngsters who spent the morning dribbling, shooting and learning the fundamentals from Brown and several of his former coaches.
Campers received t‑shirts, drawstring bags, lunch and sports drinks, while Brown and the coaches led drills, skill challenges and friendly competitions.
Brown’s 2025‑26 campaign saw him average 15.4 points, 3.3 assists and a career‑high 87.4% free‑throw shooting, and he topped the Sooners in free‑throw percentage, assists, steals and minutes played.
His statistical footprint includes 570 points this season, 1,576 career points, 424 rebounds, 378 assists and 194 three‑point field goals in just 104 games.
The Sooners have posted 20‑plus wins in each of the past three seasons and have been ranked in the top 15 of the AP Poll twice, a backdrop that Brown hopes to leverage as he looks toward the 2026‑27 year.
Future Ambitions
Brown says his primary goal is to guide Oklahoma back to the NCAA Tournament and, ultimately, to a championship run, building on the momentum of a Final Four appearance the previous season.
