Yankees place Weathers on injured list
New York Yankees announced that right‑hander Ryan Weathers has been placed on the 15‑day injured list after he was diagnosed with a left forearm flexor strain, an injury that will keep him out of action for an estimated two to four weeks. To fill the vacancy, the Yankees promoted left‑hander Brendan Beck from Triple‑A Scranton/Wilkes Barre, where he has been working as a starter in the minors. Beck is expected to make his first major‑league appearance in the upcoming series against the Boston Red Sox.
