Cedarville University’s Division II men’s soccer team, known as the Yellow Jackets, will begin its 2026 campaign on Thursday evening with a home matchup against Indianapolis, kicking off at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
A Coach with 14 Years at the Helm
Head coach Brett Faro, now in his fourteenth season at the university, has built a program that finished the previous year unbeaten at 12‑2‑7, advancing to the G‑MAC semifinals and the second round of the NCAA Division II Championship.
Returning between the posts is goalkeeper Eben Dewhurst, the 2025 G‑MAC Goalkeeper of the Year and an NCCAA All‑America First Team selection, who will anchor a defense that also welcomes back midfielders Yonis Velasquez‑Quezada and Pablo Novás Cortiñas, both honored on the All‑G‑MAC Second Team.
The Yellow Jackets enter the season ranked second in the G‑MAC preseason poll, trailing only Tiffin University, the defending champions who sit at No. 25 in the national rankings and captured the top spot by a single point.
The schedule pairs Cedarville with Indianapolis and Roosevelt University in back‑to‑back contests within a twelve‑day window, a stretch that could set the tone for the team’s title aspirations.
