A distinguished coaching résumé
Zach Settembre has officially joined the LSU New Orleans men’s basketball program as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, working under head coach Stacy Hollowell. The Privateers announced the move this week, highlighting Settembre’s extensive background in developing talent and shaping competitive programs.
His coaching journey includes two seasons at Tarleton State, where his squad posted the most Division I wins in school history and earned a berth in the WAC tournament, and a stint at New Mexico State that helped the Aggies rank among the nation’s top three defenses while limiting turnovers.
Beyond the hardwood
Beyond the hardwood, Settembre holds a degree in public relations from Syracuse University and an MBA from LSU Shreveport, and he once practiced financial planning with Northwestern Mutual. His analytical approach to budgeting and resource management has been cited as a factor in his on‑court success.
Head coach Stacy Hollowell welcomed the addition, noting that Settembre’s blend of recruiting acumen and defensive expertise aligns perfectly with the Privateers’ ambitions. “Zach brings a winning mindset and a deep understanding of player development,” Hollowell said. “His experience will be instrumental as we aim to elevate the program’s profile and compete at a higher level.”
