A Season Defined by Excellence
Zavier Lampert, a senior at Portsmouth High School, was crowned the 2026 Seacoast high school baseball Player of the Year after a vote that reflected his broad appeal, with his name selected by more than 23 percent of respondents, amounting to 652 votes.
His closest rival, James Mabey, trailed with 609 votes, while Harvey Reynoso and Nate Fluet followed with 438 and 289 votes respectively, underscoring the competitive landscape of the award.
Lampert’s impact was not limited to the ballot; he earned a Division I second team All‑State nod for the Clippers, a testament to his statewide recognition.
At the plate he posted a .288 batting average, launching five home runs and adding five doubles, while scoring 22 runs and driving in 15 RBIs.
On the mound he compiled a 5‑3 record with a 2.77 ERA over 48 innings, striking out 44 batters and demonstrating the dual‑threat capability that set him apart.
A Dual‑Threat Legacy
The combination of offensive production and pitching dominance painted a picture of a player who could change the game in either role, a rarity in high school baseball.
Coaches and teammates alike praised his work ethic and poise under pressure, traits that helped the Clippers secure a strong season and positioned Lampert as a leader for the next chapter of his career.
