Indiana University’s women’s basketball program announced that Zoe Jackson, the highly touted Australian recruit, will be sidelined for the entirety of the 2026‑27 season after sustaining a knee injury during a July practice session.
Medical staff have scheduled surgery in the coming weeks, after which Jackson will begin a structured rehabilitation program under the supervision of the university’s sports medicine team, with a target return set for the 2027‑28 campaign.
Jackson arrived in Bloomington earlier this year as an early enrollee, having completed a five‑year stint at Arndell Anglican College where she captured five regional championships between 2021 and 2025 and earned caps for the Australian national team.
Head coach Teri Moren praised the forward’s skill set, noting her strong hands, finishing ability and steady demeanor, and said the team will lean on her work ethic and international experience to bolster the frontcourt.
The injury comes at a time when Indiana’s 2026 signing class, ranked sixth nationally, also features GiGi Battle, Ashlinn James and Addy Nyemchek, offering depth as the Hoosiers navigate the season without their newest post player.
