Zone 4 American Legion Baseball Tournament Delivers Thrills
The latest round of the Zone 4 American Legion baseball tournament saw a flurry of offensive fireworks and gritty comebacks across Missouri, with teams from Ste. Genevieve, Bonne Terre, Park Hills and others battling for supremacy.
Bonne Terre Post 83 exploded for 14 runs in the opening inning en route to a 16‑1 victory over Eureka Post 177. The offensive onslaught was anchored by David Miller, who went 3‑for‑3 at the plate and tossed two scoreless innings to preserve the lead.
Ste. Genevieve Post 150 rallied past Kirkwood Post 156 in a junior‑level clash, edging the opposition 12‑10. Coyer Marberry’s 3‑for‑4 performance and three RBI proved decisive, while Kolten Fallert later delivered a complete game that yielded only two unearned runs in a 12‑2 win over Jackson Post 156.
In the senior division, Ste. Genevieve Post 150 staged a five‑run comeback to defeat Rock Memorial Post 283, 10‑9. The rally was sparked by timely hitting from Cooper Tripp and solid pitching from Evan Fallert, turning a deficit into a dramatic victory.
Park Hills Post 416 opened its freshman campaign with a 13‑3 win over Kirkwood Post 156. Kam Schweiss and Hoyt Hill emerged as standout players, each contributing key hits and solid defensive work.
