Palestinian football leagues to resume in September after three‑year hiatus
After a three‑year suspension caused by the conflict in Gaza, the Palestinian Football Association announced the restart of domestic leagues in September. The inaugural ‘Thousand Martyrs’ Cup will feature over 200 clubs from Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanese refugee camps, honoring 1,014 athletes killed during the war. President Jibril Rajoub called for international support and urged FIFA to enforce uniform regulations, while condemning Israeli settlement activity.
