UTSA Baseball Stars Land MLB Draft Opportunities

Three UTSA baseball players were selected in the top 20 rounds of the MLB draft, with outfielder Lane Haworth and pitchers Connor Kelley and Robert Orloski earning opportunities with the Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, and Los Angeles Angels respectively. Outfielder Drew Detlefsen also signed with the San Diego Padres as an undrafted free agent. This marks the first time since 2018 that UTSA has had at least three players drafted, and the first time since the MLB draft was shortened to 20 rounds in 2021.
