Crystal Lake’s Fourth of July parade will kick off at 1 p.m. Sunday, winding through the city’s historic streets before ending at the Dole Mansion, and will be capped off by a fireworks show over Main Beach as the Lakeside Festival wraps up the day.
A Patriotic Celebration
Home State Bank is using the occasion to blend patriotism with the growing buzz around the World Cup, offering a chance for young fans to walk away with a piece of U.S. Soccer history.
Two U.S. Soccer home jerseys will be awarded to children who demonstrate patriotic spirit near the Pass & Review Stand at Main Beach, while the bank distributes 250 postcard‑sized entry cards along the route.
Participants must bring their completed cards to the bank’s office at 40 Grant Street in Crystal Lake to be entered, with the drawing scheduled for late July.
Ryan Farrell, president and CEO of Home State Bank, said the giveaway is a fun way to engage with the community and celebrate America’s history and the upcoming World Cup.
The bank’s deep roots in Crystal Lake underscore its commitment to local heritage, turning a simple parade into a platform for community connection.
Beyond the jersey giveaway, the event highlights the town’s tradition of combining civic pride with cultural moments, from the early morning march to the evening’s fireworks.
