Northwestern State's baseball program, known as the Demons, has been honored with the 2025‑26 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award.
The accolade, which recognizes programs that post a collective GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and are led by an ABCA‑member coach, underscores the team's commitment to scholarship.
During the 2025‑26 academic year the Demons logged a team GPA of 3.39, placing them comfortably above the threshold.
The honor roll also highlighted individual achievement, with 32 players earning spots on the Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll and nine of them posting perfect 4.0 GPAs.
Five members of the squad were additionally selected to the Academic All‑Southland Conference Team, reflecting sustained academic performance across the roster.
Post‑season academic honors
Pitcher JC Acosta capped the season by receiving the male winner of the Southland Conference's FL McDonald Postgraduate Scholarship, awarded to the graduating student‑athlete with the highest GPA.
The scholarship, which carries a $5,000 stipend, will support Acosta's graduate studies as he prepares for a career beyond college baseball.
