Nick Sanchez is set to make his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start of the 2026 season at Indianapolis Raceway Park, climbing into the No. 77 Chevrolet fielded by Spire Motorsports.
The path to that debut has been anything but straightforward. After a surprising split from Big Machine Racing in the off‑season, Sanchez briefly drove for AM Racing before the team shut down early in the year. He then turned to Peterson Racing, where he has managed to lock in a handful of starts.
Sanchez is no stranger to the Truck circuit, having logged 47 previous starts with two victories at Daytona and Charlotte earlier in 2024. His best finishes at Indianapolis have been 11th and 10th, and he also captured a win in the NASCAR O'Reilly Series at Atlanta last year.
Spire Motorsports has been busy shuffling drivers in the No. 77 truck this season, enlisting names such as Carson Hocevar, Parker Kligerman, Justin Marks, Jesse Love and Connor Zilisch. Hocevar already gave the team a highlight by scoring a win at Texas Motor Speedway, leaving Sanchez eager to add his own chapter at the historic 2.5‑mile oval.
A new chapter at Indianapolis
The upcoming race will be a litmus test for Sanchez, who hopes to translate his limited Truck experience into a competitive run. With a mix of veteran talent and fresh faces around him, the No. 77 entry could become a surprise contender as the 2026 schedule unfolds.
