A Golden Journey for the Trophy
The World Cup trophy is set to travel in a specially commissioned Louis Vuitton trunk, a piece that blends the brand’s signature monogram with a gleaming golden V symbolizing victory. The trunk’s corners are protected by gold‑plated brass fittings, while its interior is lined with soft beige leather and bears a discreet patch that marks the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and FIFA.
This marks the fifth occasion the French luxury house has designed a trophy‑carrying case for the football championship, having previously supplied containers for the 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 tournaments. Each iteration builds on the last, incorporating refined details and a continued focus on durability and elegance.
Pietro Beccari, CEO and Chairman of Louis Vuitton, said the company and FIFA share a commitment to excellence and a belief in sport’s power to inspire and unite people. His remarks highlight the mutual respect that underpins the partnership.
The collaboration is part of a larger pattern in which luxury brands align themselves with major sporting spectacles. From Tiffany & Co.’s long‑standing role in crafting the Vince Lombardi Trophy since 1967 to Louis Vuitton’s decade‑long agreement to produce trophy trunks for Formula 1’s Grand Prix circuits, the intersection of high fashion and sport continues to grow.
Traditionally, the World Cup trophy resides at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, where it is displayed to the public, awaiting its next journey to the tournament’s final venue.
