Jayson Swain, a former Tennessee Volunteers standout, has been appointed the new football gameday booth analyst for the Vol Network, joining the iconic Mike Keith. The announcement, made ahead of the 2026 season, underscores the network’s commitment to blending legacy with fresh perspective.
Swain’s Return to the Booth
Swain’s connection to the university runs deep. As a team captain from 2003 to 2006, he was a key member of the 2004 SEC Eastern Division title squad and amassed 126 receptions for 1,721 yards and ten touchdowns during his collegiate career.
Beyond the field, Swain has built a media presence in Knoxville. He co‑hosts the “Josh and Swain” show on WNML 99.1 FM The Sports Animal and has hosted his own podcast, The Swain Event, since 2009. In 2021 he joined the Vol Network as a sideline reporter before stepping into the broadcast booth last season.
The 2026 season will kick off on September 5 with a matchup against Furman, marking the first broadcast featuring Swain alongside Keith. Their partnership is expected to bring a player‑turned‑analyst’s insight to the booth, enriching the coverage for fans across the state.
