The NASCAR Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2027 on Tuesday, naming veteran driver Kevin Harvick, former teammate Jeff Burton and the late Larry Phillips among the inductees, a selection that underscores the series’ deep respect for sustained excellence.
Harvick’s championship pedigree
Harvick, who captured the 2014 Cup Series championship and amassed 60 victories over his career, earned the support of 92 percent of the voting panel, a testament to his dominance on tracks ranging from Daytona to Kansas.
Burton, a 21‑time Cup race winner and Harvick’s on‑track rival turned mentor, was chosen with 32 percent of the vote, his legacy built on a two‑decade career that blended speed with sportsmanship.
Phillips and the Landmark Award
Phillips, celebrated for an estimated 1,000 to 2,000 wins across dirt, oval and road courses, will be inducted posthumously, his contributions spanning an era when record‑keeping varied widely.
Lesa France Kennedy, a key figure in NASCAR’s corporate leadership, received the Landmark Award in recognition of her pivotal role in shaping the sport’s modern infrastructure.
The induction ceremony is slated for January 22, 2027, promising a night that will blend nostalgia with the future of stock car racing.
