Morocco, eager to showcase its own capabilities, has proposed the King Hassan II Stadium near Casablanca as the venue for the final, a facility that can accommodate up to 115,000 spectators. The North African nation views the hosting rights as a chance to highlight its organizational capacity.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has refuted reports that he promised Morocco the final, emphasizing that the governing body will announce its decision in due course. His statement comes as the Spanish government expresses surprise at the speculation and reaffirms its commitment to negotiating a favorable outcome.
Spain’s sports minister, Milagros Tolón, declared that the country ‘deserves’ to host the final, citing its competitive advantages, historic achievements, and the readiness of its proposed stadiums. The minister’s remarks underscore the nation’s confidence as negotiations with FIFA progress.
