Tennessee Athletics announced a five-year jersey patch partnership with Knoxville-based Axle Logistics, marking the first official patch arrangement for both the men's and women's basketball programs. The agreement not only adds a visible sponsor to the Volunteers' uniforms but also embeds a suite of student-athlete influencer initiatives designed to cultivate professional networks and personal brands.
Axle Logistics, founded by University of Tennessee alumni and staffed largely by graduates, operates as a non-asset based third-party logistics provider. The company delivers Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and Warehousing services across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, earning a reputation for operational excellence and customer service.
Under the deal, Axle Logistics will collaborate with the athletic department on marketing campaigns that leverage the reach of Vol athletes on social platforms. These initiatives aim to transition student-athletes from collegiate competition to professional brand ambassadors, aligning personal growth with the university's broader alumni network.
Danny White, Tennessee's vice chancellor and director of athletics, praised the partnership, highlighting Axle Logistics' innovation, integrity, and deep commitment to the Knoxville community. He emphasized that the collaboration strengthens ties between the university's sports programs and the region's economic ecosystem.
Beyond the jersey patch, the partnership underscores a broader vision of community engagement.
