Preseason Accolades
Boston University’s field hockey program entered the 2025 season with a wave of preseason recognition that underscored its recent dominance. Senior forward Nicole Lauro, a three‑year starter from Buenos Aires, Argentina, was named to the Preseason All‑Patriot League team, marking her second consecutive year among the conference’s elite. Her consistency — never missing a game over three seasons — has made her a cornerstone of the Terriers’ lineup.
Joining Lauro on the all‑conference squad is teammate Caroline O'Brien, the reigning Patriot League Championship MVP. Hailing from Devon, Pennsylvania, O'Brien capped her breakout 2025 campaign with a historic hat trick in the title game, the first ever in a championship final. She led the league in points, goals, assists and shots, finishing the season atop the conference leaderboards in every major offensive category.
Terriers' Playoff Outlook
The Terriers were selected third in the Patriot League preseason poll, earning 27 points and a solitary first‑place vote. That placement reflects both the team’s recent success — having captured the tournament championship in each of the past two years — and the high expectations placed on its returning stars. Coach Julie Myers emphasized that the squad’s depth and experience give them a competitive edge as they chase another title.
Season Opener
Boston University will open its schedule on August 28 at New Balance Field, hosting Merrimack at 4 p.m. The matchup marks the first test for a roster that blends veteran leadership with fresh talent. With the preseason honors already secured, the Terriers enter the new campaign carrying the momentum of a championship pedigree and the ambition to repeat.
