Keana Foz is poised to make an immediate impact for the Grand Canyon University women's basketball team, bringing a reputation for tenacious defense and a newly discovered offensive arsenal.
A Dual Threat on and off the Court
During her final season at Wagner College, Foz posted averages of 9.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and a career‑high 2.0 steals per game, underscoring her ability to disrupt opponents while contributing to the offense.
Her offensive breakout came toward the end of her sophomore year, with consecutive games of 20 and 22 points that drew the attention of recruiters across the country.
Off the court, Foz founded Point Goddess, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and younger girls through sports, personal development and community initiatives. The organization runs three annual events, including a winter camp and a celebrity game scheduled for July 18 in Oakville, Ontario, which will feature a panel with WNBA legend Cynthia Cooper.
Foz’s father recently reminded the family that the correct moniker is “point goddesses,” a subtle but meaningful shift that reflects the program’s focus on celebrating female athletes.
She will join GCU alongside her sister Maya, completing a long‑held dream of sharing the court at the collegiate level and extending a network that includes former collegiate programs such as Wagner, Bradley University and the Missouri Valley Conference, as well as academic partners like Fort Erie International Academy.
The Lopes coaching staff highlighted her defensive instincts and leadership, noting that her experience in high‑pressure environments could accelerate the team’s competitiveness in the Western Athletic Conference.
With a vision that blends athletic ambition and social impact, Foz aims to use her platform at GCU to mentor younger players and expand the reach of Point Goddess, hoping to foster a new generation of women who see sport as a pathway to confidence and community.
