U.S. Under-19 Men’s National Team coach Gonzalo Segares has unveiled a 24-player roster that will gather for a training camp between June 1 and June 9 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Georgia.
A Strategic Mix of Talent
The camp serves as a crucial stepping stone as the squad prepares to face Japan on June 9, a fixture that forms part of its build-up to the Concacaf U-20 Championship, the competition that will determine the region’s representatives at the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
The roster reflects a deliberate mix of talent from across the country and abroad. Twenty players hail from Major League Soccer clubs such as Atlanta United, LA Galaxy, Inter Miami and Orlando City, while four others are based in Europe, turning out for Castellón in Spain, Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, Lyngby in Denmark and Roma in Italy.
Age distribution shows a focus on the 2007 birth year cohort, with nineteen players, and the 2008 cohort, comprising five, underscoring the program’s intent to shape the next generation under the U.S. Way philosophy, which prioritizes technical development and tactical intelligence for eventual senior team integration.
Among the goalkeepers named are Giorgio De Marzi, Lucas McPartlin and Aidan Stokes, while the defensive line includes Tristan Brown, Dominik Chong-Qui, Christopher Cupps, Braden Dunham, Ramiz Hamouda, Harbor Miller, Javaun Mussenden and Neil Pierre.
Midfield options feature Snyder Brunell, Colin Guske, Santiago Morales, Axel Perez, Cooper Sanchez and Jonny Shore, whereas the attacking options are headed by Nimfasha Berchimas, Marvin Dills, Justin Ellis, Aiden Hezarkhani, Daniel Pinter, Ruben Ramos Jr. and Colton Swan.
Coach Segares emphasized that the camp is as much about competition as it is about cohesion, noting that the blend of domestic experience and overseas exposure will test the team’s adaptability ahead of the June 9 Japan match and the challenges that lie ahead in the Concacaf tournament.
