The University of Northern Colorado announced that its 2026 football campaign will be marked by a series of themed game days at Nottingham Field, turning each home contest into a celebration of local culture and partnership.
Themed Game Days Celebrate Community
The season opens on August 28 with a 7 p.m. showdown against Big Sky Conference rival Weber State, an event that will be celebrated as City of Greeley Day to underscore the partnership between UNC Athletics and the local community.
A week later, on September 5, the Bears host South Dakota State in a family‑oriented Kids Day, offering a slate of activities designed for children and parents.
Latinx Heritage Day arrives on September 19 when Northeastern State visits, an occasion sponsored by Banner Health that will highlight the cultural contributions of the Latinx community.
Homecoming weekend falls on September 26, featuring a matchup against Utah Tech that is presented by Bank of Colorado, tying the university’s tradition to a regional banking partner.
Military Appreciation Day will be observed on October 17 during the game against California Polytechnic State University, with the U.S. Army serving as the official sponsor and the event also marking the UNC Hall of Fame Game.
The final regular‑season home game on November 14 will be Senior Day against Montana State, sponsored by Pepsi, providing a tribute to the graduating class.
