NASCAR’s Broadcast Shake‑Up: Prime Video Takes Over Nashville Superspeedway

A new media‑rights agreement moves key races to streaming platforms and reshapes the 2026 schedule.

The Nashville Deal

The NASCAR Cup race scheduled for May 31 at Nashville Superspeedway will not be shown live on Fox. Instead, the event will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video as part of a fresh media‑rights arrangement that also brings TNT Sports into the mix. The broadcast will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET on May 31.

Under the new agreement, Prime Video and TNT Sports each secure five races, trimming Fox’s slate from 18 to 14 events and cutting NBC’s lineup from 20 to 14. The change reflects a broader shift toward streaming and cable sports networks in covering the series.

A reshaped schedule

Prime Video’s package includes races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Pocono Raceway and the newly created Coronado Street Course in San Diego, expanding the series’ geographic footprint.

TNT Sports will kick off its five‑race run at Sonoma Raceway in late June, and its broadcast booth will feature veteran voices Adam Alexander, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte, who bring a blend of play‑by‑play and former‑driver insight.

NBC’s remaining dates begin in August at Iowa Speedway, but most of its races will now be simulcast on USA Network rather than on the main NBC network, a move designed to preserve advertising revenue while still reaching a wide audience.

The rearrangement signals a pivotal moment for NASCAR’s distribution strategy, as traditional broadcast partners cede ground to digital platforms and cable sports channels, reshaping how fans across the United States consume the sport.
