Kyle Larson captured a decisive victory on Monday night at Davenport Speedway in Iowa, leading the final 24 of 30 laps and crossing the finish line more than three seconds ahead of his rivals.
Following the checkered flag, Larson paid homage to the late Kyle Busch by performing the signature “Busch Bow,” a gesture that has become a rallying point for fans and drivers mourning Busch’s passing.
Larson announced that the entire prize purse from the race will be donated to the Bundle of Joy fund, a charity founded by Busch and his wife Samantha to assist families confronting infertility.
A Tribute in Victory
The gesture underscores the deep impact Busch’s death has had on the NASCAR community; the driver, who was 41 when he died on May 21 from complications of severe pneumonia that progressed to sepsis, was cremated in Mooresville, North Carolina, and his memory continues to inspire tributes across the sport.
Other drivers, including Denny Hamlin and Daniel Suarez, have also honored Busch with the same bow after their wins, and at the Coca‑Cola 600 Larson swapped his usual name tag for the nickname “Little Kyle,” a moniker bestowed by Busch himself.
Busch remains NASCAR’s all‑time leader in combined victories across its top three national series with 234 wins, and he secured his final triumph just six days before his death in a Truck Series race at Dover.
Larson, the defending Cup Series champion, currently sits sixth in the point standings this season and has added two victories in the second‑tier O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driving the No. 88 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports.
