A winning formula
Paris Saint-Germain's recent Champions League victory has turned into a financial boon for basketball icon Michael Jordan, thanks to a long‑standing partnership with Nike and its Jordan Brand.
The French club's triumph, sealed in a dramatic final, sparked a surge in demand for PSG apparel, especially items bearing the Jumpman insignia that link the basketball legend to the world of football.
Jordan Brand, the Nike subsidiary that launched in 1984, has been an official sponsor of PSG since 2018, making the French side the only football team worldwide to carry the Jordan logo on its jersey.
The partnership traces its roots back to 1985 when Nike first established a foothold in Paris, and was further cemented when Neymar joined the Jordan roster in 2016.
Under the terms of their agreement, Jordan receives a five percent royalty on every product sold with his Jumpman emblem, a clause that has translated into a multimillion‑euro payout following the trophy lift.
Nike renewed its global deal with PSG in 2019, committing 80 million euros per season through 2032, a testament to the enduring commercial appeal of the collaboration.
The ‘Back2Back’ shirt, celebrating the club’s consecutive European titles, has become a coveted item among supporters, further amplifying the brand’s revenue stream.
