Iraq’s World Cup Base Camp Chosen
The Iraq men’s national soccer team has selected the Greenbrier Sports Performance Center as its base camp for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a tournament that will unfold across North America.
Nestled in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the resort offers state‑of‑the‑art training facilities and a secluded environment that the coaching staff believes will foster focus and cohesion.
The location is roughly a 60‑to‑100 minute flight from the team’s three group‑stage venues in Boston, Philadelphia and Toronto, allowing for efficient travel while minimizing disruption to preparation routines.
A Historic Venue with Proven Credentials
The Greenbrier has previously hosted Juventus FC for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and served as a training camp for eight NFL teams, underscoring its reputation as a premier sports destination.
Tournament Schedule and Broadcast Coverage
The competition will kick off on June 11 in Mexico City and will culminate on July 19 in New York, featuring matches in a dozen cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
All 104 matches will be broadcast in the United States on FOX and its sister network FS1, with 70 games scheduled to air on the flagship FOX channel.
