A Milestone Exhibit Celebrates Six Decades of Racing
Team Penske and the NASCAR Hall of Fame have joined forces to present “Team Penske 60: A NASCAR Hall of Fame Exhibit,” a tribute to the organization’s 60th anniversary. The exhibit opened to the public on Thursday, May 21, and will be on display for a limited run, giving fans a brief window to experience a curated collection of the team’s most defining moments.
Founded in 1966 by Roger Penske, the team has amassed 48 national championships and more than 660 race victories across multiple racing series. This milestone has been marked by a series of initiatives that invite enthusiasts to share their favorite memories using the hashtag #Penske60, fostering a community‑wide celebration of the brand’s impact.
The exhibit’s centerpiece is a lineup of six race cars that span four disciplines, each representing a pivotal chapter in Team Penske’s history. Among them is the 1996 Ford Thunderbird chassis PRS‑001, the first NASCAR Cup Series car designed and built by the team, and the 2012 Dodge Charger that carried Brad Keselowski to the organization’s first of five Cup Series titles. A more recent addition is the 2024 No. 22 Shell‑Pennzoil Ford Mustang Dark Horse driven by three‑time champion Joey Logano, underscoring the team’s continued competitiveness.
Beyond stock cars, the display includes a 1975 Penske PC‑1 Formula One chassis, a 1982 Penske PC‑10 that powered Rick Mears to three championships in four years, and the 2025 Porsche 963 fielded by Porsche Penske Motorsport, which secured the IMSA Sports Car Championship for the brand. Over 50 artifacts — from helmets and trophies to engineering drawings — are paired with dynamic video elements that bring each story to life.
The partnership with the NASCAR Hall of Fame not only highlights the team’s on‑track achievements but also its broader cultural footprint. By showcasing these historic machines and narratives, the exhibit offers both longtime followers and newcomers a comprehensive look at how Team Penske has shaped modern motorsport.
