NASCAR will make history this June as it stages its first ever weekend of racing on a U.S. Naval installation, the Coronado base near San Diego, California.
The centerpiece of the event is the Navy 250, a Craftsman Truck Series race scheduled for Friday, June 19 at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
Marks Makes a Comeback Behind the Wheel
Justin Marks, longtime team owner and former driver, will step back into a racing seat for the first time since 2023. He will pilot the No. 77 Chevrolet‑powered truck for Spire Motorsports, a partnership that brings together his Trackhouse Racing organization and a Jockey sponsorship.
Marks' last full‑time NASCAR start came in 2023, but his résumé includes a celebrated victory at Mid‑Ohio Sports Car Course in 2021 and the founding of Trackhouse Racing, a venture that has already captured fifteen wins under his leadership.
A Lineup That Reads Like a Hall of Fame
The Navy 250 will feature a star‑studded roster of drivers, among them seven‑time champion Jimmie Johnson, veteran Brendan Gaughan and former Daytona 500 winner Jamie McMurray. Their presence underscores the significance of the event and adds extra excitement for fans.
