Clark County School Board Members Arrested in Youth Soccer Fund Theft

Ashley Ritchie-Rowland and Ben Dorsey charged with misappropriating over $70,000 from local soccer league

Two members of the Clark County Public Schools Board of Education have been taken into custody after investigators alleged they stole money intended for a local youth soccer league.

Board Members Face Theft Allegations

Ashley Ritchie-Rowland faces a felony count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition involving sums between $10,000 and $1 million, with prosecutors alleging she diverted more than $70,000 of the league’s assets for personal use.

According to court filings, the expenditures were traced to a series of purchases on Amazon, Boost Mobile, Walmart, Hulu and Venmo, as well as numerous ATM withdrawals that left a digital trail.

Photos matching Ritchie-Rowland’s name, address and personal accounts were presented to corroborate the withdrawals, strengthening the case against both her and co‑defendant Ben Dorsey.

Both individuals remain held on separate $70,000 bonds while the legal process continues, and they are still listed on the district’s website as board members.

Superintendent Dustin Howard has emphasized that the allegations are unrelated to the board members’ official duties, and the district has stated it was unaware of any misconduct at the time of the meeting where parents voiced concerns in December.

The Winchester Youth Soccer Association, which operates the league, has cooperated with law enforcement, and its president said the incident has prompted a review of financial oversight procedures.
