The skies over Las Vegas will light up on June 27 as the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds roar over Las Vegas Ballpark to kick off the inaugural Battle for Vegas event, a charity baseball showcase that blends sports, music and community spirit as part of the America250 celebration honoring Southern Nevada's role in the nation's story.

Star‑Studded Lineups Ready to Compete

Team Reilly Smith will field current Vegas Golden Knights players such as Carter Hart, Adin Hill and Shea Theodore, while Team Brock Bowers will counter with Las Vegas Raiders athletes including Eric Stokes, Mike Washington and Keyron Crawford, plus former Raiders linebacker Kirk Morrison. The rosters also feature additional NHL and NFL talent, underscoring the cross‑sport appeal of the exhibition.

Adding a musical highlight, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter will perform the National Anthem and then join Team Reilly Smith on the field, merging pop stardom with competitive baseball for a cause.

Gates open at 6 p.m., with a Home Run Derby scheduled for 7 p.m. and the first pitch at 8 p.m. All proceeds will benefit local charities, including the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada and the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, supporting families battling childhood cancer.
