Adidas Re‑signs with University of Tennessee in Landmark 10‑Year Deal

The partnership restores a historic apparel relationship and creates a new NIL platform for Volunteers athletes.

A Strategic Return

The University of Tennessee announced on Tuesday that it has inked a 10‑year agreement with Adidas, naming the German sportswear giant as the official provider of footwear, uniforms, apparel and sideline equipment for all Volunteer teams.

The deal marks the return of Adidas to the Tennessee market, a relationship that first began in 1995 and lasted until 2015, before the school switched to Nike for eight years.

Coach Kim Caldwell of the Lady Vols basketball program said she is thrilled by the partnership, citing Adidas’s global stature and its willingness to invest in the development of student‑athletes.

The NIL Opportunity

Under the arrangement, every scholarship athlete across the university’s 20 varsity sports will be eligible to join Adidas’s NIL Ambassador Network, a program designed to let participants profit from their name, image and likeness.

Looking Ahead

University officials say the collaboration not only reinforces the school’s athletic brand but also opens new financial pathways for competitors who previously had limited commercial exposure.

The partnership is expected to boost merchandise sales, sharpen recruiting narratives and deepen the Volunteers’ connection with a brand that commands worldwide recognition.
