North Dakota State University’s football program is set to compete in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision’s Mountain West Conference this fall, marking a major step in the Bison’s ascent.
All of the team’s games will be streamed through the newly launched MW+ platform, which goes live on July 1 and will be reachable on smartphones, tablets, smart TVs and streaming devices.
The service will be accessible via the web at watch.themw.com and through the league’s site at themw.com, as well as on iPhone, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Amazon Prime Channels.
Ten of the Bison’s twelve contests are slated for national exposure, with broadcasts slated on CBS Sports Network, The CW, FOX Sports and ESPN’s television networks.
Among those televised games, the September 19 matchup at Sacramento State will air on an ESPN network, giving the team a prime spotlight early in the season.
Local production plans
Two home games, however, will not be part of a national feed. The September 5 contest against Fordham and the October 31 showdown with UTEP are expected to be produced locally by WDAY‑TV and Forum Communications.
If the local broadcaster’s bid is approved, those games could be carried on the state‑wide ABC network and on stations in Sioux Falls and Rapid City, South Dakota, while also remaining available on the MW+ app.
The move underscores a broader trend of conferences leveraging digital platforms to broaden reach, and it positions North Dakota State as a key player in the Mountain West’s multimedia strategy.
