Caitlin Clark and the USA Basketball women's national team opened their 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup campaign with a commanding 94-61 victory over China on Friday.
Clark's Record-Setting Night
Clark logged 25 minutes and 19 seconds, delivering a record-setting double-double that included 14 points, 11 assists and three rebounds, while shooting 4-of-9 from the field, 3-of-7 from three-point range and 3-of-4 from the free‑throw line.
Her all‑around impact earned her the Team USA and TCL Player of the Game accolade, underscoring her role as a catalyst for a roster that also features Paige Bueckers and Breanna Stewart, both of whom bring WNBA experience to the squad.
The Americans now turn their attention to Italy, slated to meet them on Sunday, September 6, at Berlin Arena in Germany for the second round‑robin encounter in Group D.
Fans can catch the live action on TNT at 1:45 p.m. Central Time, or stream the game on Sling and HBO Max, ensuring broad accessibility across the United States.
With a strong start secured, Team USA looks to build momentum as they navigate the remainder of the group stage, aiming for a deep run in the tournament.
