A Fallen Board Member
Ashley Ritchie‑Rowland, a longtime member of the Clark County Public School Board and former president of the Winchester Youth Soccer League, was taken into custody this week after investigators uncovered a pattern of financial misconduct that spans more than two years.
According to court filings, Ritchie‑Rowland is alleged to have diverted league funds for personal expenses between May 2023 and November 2025, siphoning a total that exceeds $70,000. The transactions, which include purchases of personal items and travel, were uncovered during a routine audit prompted by irregularities in the league’s accounting.
Prosecutors have charged her with Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, a Class C felony that carries a potential prison sentence of up to five years. She is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center on a $70,000 bond, a figure that reflects the seriousness of the alleged offense.
While Ritchie‑Rowland remains behind bars, another board member of the soccer league is under investigation but has not yet been arrested. Authorities have declined to name the individual, citing the ongoing nature of the probe.
The Winchester Sun has reached out to Clark County Public Schools for comment, and a district spokesperson indicated that the organization is cooperating fully with law enforcement and will take appropriate action once the investigation concludes.
The scandal has sent shockwaves through the local community, where the soccer league has long been a staple for youth recreation. Parents and volunteers say they feel betrayed by a trusted leader and are calling for greater transparency in the oversight of nonprofit funds.
