Garrett Mitchell, better known online as Cleetus McFarland, has added a Pro Late Model to his racing arsenal as he pushes toward full‑time competition in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The acquisition was confirmed in a recent YouTube upload where the No. 33 Rette Jones Racing entry was showcased.
The car made its debut at Tri‑County Speedway, where initial runs revealed strong grip and braking performance despite a few controlled spins. Mitchell praised the machine’s balance, noting that the experience will be crucial as he fine‑tunes his racecraft ahead of a packed schedule.
Beyond the test, the plan includes tackling a late‑model event at Berlin Raceway in Michigan and running select dates on his own Freedom Factory circuit in Florida. The next high‑profile appearance will be the Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on October 23, a venue that promises a new test of his skill set.
To support this progression, Mitchell has signed a two‑year agreement with Richard Childress Racing, a partnership that will provide technical resources and mentorship as he transitions from ARCA’s pole‑winning performances to the Truck Series.
Building on Past Successes
Mitchell’s racing résumé already includes a pole position in an ARCA event at Michigan and debuts in both the NASCAR Truck and O’Reilly Series this year. Those early results underscore a rapid learning curve and set the stage for the upcoming Talladega weekend.
