Hundreds of Dutch supporters converged on a sweltering Saturday morning in Fulshear, Texas, their orange jerseys and scarves turning the quiet streets into a sea of national pride.
The centerpiece of the gathering was the Dutch Orange Bus, a rolling tribute to the country's football heritage that has become a familiar sight at World Cup festivals worldwide.
Covered in a patchwork of stickers from every tournament the team has attended, the bus first docked at the Port of Galveston before undergoing a quick maintenance stop, then rolled through Arlington and finally made its way to Fulshear.
At Hat Creek Burger Company, fans clambered onto the bus to explore its interior, sang chants, and posed for photos, while the aroma of burgers mixed with the sound of Dutch anthems.
A Fort Bend County paramedic ambulance stood nearby, a precautionary measure that underscored the event's focus on safety amid the summer heat.
Frans Peeters, one of the bus drivers, praised the hospitality he had encountered, saying the kindness of locals made the journey feel like a warm welcome rather than a long haul.
The bus will lead a pre‑game march to NRG Stadium later that day, a procession that promises live entertainment, food vendors and an estimated crowd of thousands cheering before the Netherlands faces Sweden.
Swedish fans are also expected to gather at TMC Helix Park at the same hour, adding another wave of international support to the festivities.
