Grant Cunningham Earns Second Consecutive SEC Baseball Community Service Honor

Texas A&M reliever recognized for extensive volunteer work and community initiatives

Grant Cunningham, a right‑handed reliever for Texas A&M, has been selected to the SEC Baseball Community Service Team for the second consecutive year, underscoring his dedication both on the mound and in the community.

During the current season he has contributed 30.85 hours of volunteer service, leading initiatives such as AggiesCAN, the nation’s largest student‑athlete‑run canned‑food drive, and REVved Up to Read, a literacy program for elementary schools.

He also coordinated a partnership with Adidas that delivered white cleats to the pediatric cancer ward at Houston Memorial Children’s Hospital, where the young patients will paint the shoes before they are worn by Texas A&M players.

Community Impact

The cleats project not only showcases Cunningham’s organizational abilities but also creates a meaningful connection between the hospital’s children and the Aggies, as the artwork will travel with the team’s uniform.

Beyond his service, Cunningham serves as vice president of the Texas A&M Student‑Athlete Advisory Committee and sits on the leadership team of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for Texas A&M Athletics.

On the athletic side, he has appeared in 15 games this season, posting a 4‑1 record, 29 strikeouts and a save, illustrating the dual excellence he brings to the program.
